1936 Mercedes 540K Special Roadster, Von Krieger Car

This 1936 Mercedes Benz 540k Special Roadster, known as the Von Krieger Car, came to us as an unrestored Mercedes that had been put in storage in the mid 1950s. Classic Car Services team worked to fully restore the car in silver with red interior and showed the car in 2004. In 2012, the owner, Lee Herrington, listed the car with Gooding and Company to be sold at their upcoming Pebble Beach Auction. On request of the auction company, Classic Car Services was commissioned to repaint the car back to its original black. The car then went on to set a record for the highest price of a pre-war car sold at auction.
