Established 1985

Since 1985, Classic Car Services has been servicing and restoring vintage automobiles in Maine. Much of our success has been in finding, training and retaining a talented team of employees over the years, allowing us to refine our techniques and offer some of the top restoration services for antique automobiles in the country. Our award-winning restorations and service work can be seen in collections and private garages both nationally and abroad and no job is too big or small for our team to take on. The Classic Car Services’ team enthusiasm and passion for vintage automobiles is what drives us to success, explore some of our auto restoration services we offer.

Machine Shop Engineering & Parts Manufacturing

Since 1988, one of Classic Car Services’ best kept secrets is Jack Merrill, a brilliant machinist with top notch engineering capabilities. Throughout the many years in business, there is nothing he has not been able to make. The in house machine shop at Classic Car Services hosts vintage equipment from the pre 1960’s. Some of the equipment ranges from American and Metric tool room lathes, Bridgeport vertical and horizontal mills, Moore gig bore, Harig automatic surface grinder, and a wonderful WWII vintage Warner Swasey No. 3 turret lathe. Utilizing this equipment ensures the accuracies of your restoration in even the smallest of details.

These specialty vintage tools and machining equipment allow us to produce parts in their original format. For years Classic Car Services has had access to Art Brummer Packard Parts, a 1970’s supplier to restorers and owners with authentic replacement parts. We are efficient at manufacturing process and with our in house machine shop and direct connections with pattern and foundry facilities we continue to make Art’s Packard items on an as needed request, as well as items needed for our current restorations.

Mechanical

Mechanical work at Classic Car Services starts with attention to detail. Over the last 12 years, Ryan Brown a McPherson College graduate with a passion for classic cars, has brought a keen eye and attention to detail to every job he’s completed with us. From documenting the disassembly, to researching authentic details, and parts when reassembling.

Sheet Metal & Fabrication

Back in 1996, Jerry Foresta started as a paint and body specialist at Classic Car Services. Over the years, Jerry has studied under Fay Butler learning the art of metal shaping and refining his skills in body sheet metal & fabrication. Learning how to make panels developed into the art of repairing the original metal properly and bringing the body panels up to a quality level. With this and Jerry’s craft to fit and gap doors gives us the end result and authentic look we strive for when restoring and preserving vintage automobiles at Classic Car Services.

Auto Body & Paint

Auto body and paint services at Classic Car Services are managed by our own, Mike Brooks. After owning his own shop for over 20 years, Mike decided to join the Classic Car Services team. His knowledge and expertise have been a great addition to our team for the past three years. Our own developed technique uses the best modern materials to create the look of hand rubbed Lacquer of the 1930’s, with better protection and longevity. This allows an authentic look for years to come.

Upholstery

In house upholstery has been at the forefront of every restoration and preservation job we’ve completed. In the 1980’s, Dick Ferrier joined our team with his knowledge from years of experience at Park Motors Packard. Passing his skills on to some of our younger employees, his influence set the bar for authentic upholstery that can be seen in every classic car restored at Classic Car Services.
